EFFECT OF SUGAR ON THE COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH OF CONCRETE

Concrete blocks are mostly used for covering or coating on a structure or material, load bearing purposes all around the world. This paper gives special importance or value to the effect of sugar on strength of concrete. This experiment determines the effect of admixtures (sugar) on the compressive strength of concrete block. Based on books and literature the main function of sugar to increase the initial setting time of concrete. Usually three different percentage of sugar admixtures are taken as 0.0, 0.06, ands0.08% by weight of cement. Finally compressive strength and workability of concrete. The compressive strength of concrete blocks increasing it by 16.02% at 28 days as compared to ordinary concrete blocks....

VENDOR SELECTION USING TECHNIQUE FOR ORDER PREFERENCE BY SIMILARITY TO IDEAL SOLUTION (TOPSIS) METHOD

Supplier selection, in real situation, is affected by several qualitative and quantitative factors and is one of the most important activities of purchasing department. Since at the time of evaluating suppliers against the criteria or factors, decision makers (DMS) do not have precise, exact and complete information, supplier selection becomes more difficult. Here, we apply Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) method to evaluate and select the best supplier. Through this article, we compare TOPSIS with some other approaches and afterward demonstrate that the concept of TOPSIS is very important for ranking and selecting right supplier....

PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS OF HIGH RISE BUILD-ING WITH VISCOUS DAMPER

The present study is focused on effectiveness of energy dis-sipation device and lateral stiffness system. Numerical in-vestigation is carried out, considering the seismic response of fifteen storey concrete moment resisting frame with regu-lar and irregular in plan. Viscous damper, bracing and com-bination of viscous damper and bracing are connected to building frame at different locations and arrangements. Study is conducted to reduce the response of building effec-tively and optimum number of dampers by using bracing with dampers. Dynamic analysis and static nonlinear analy-sis are carried out using ETABS software. Results of various arrangements are studied to compare the structural response and performance....

INTELLIGENT ADAPTIVE TRAFFIC LIGHT SYSTEM

Vehicle growth leads to many problems in India especially in crowded cities. The proposed Adaptive Traffic Control Algorithm allows the system to control traffic lights by measuring the intensity of traffic on roads. This whole sys-tem is based on Sensor Network where the traffic light of one intersection can communicate with traffic light of neighboring intersection. Also traffic clearance will be prior-itized for emergency vehicles like ambulance with the help of Sensors & RF Technology. This method will increase the traffic efficiency....

A REVIEW PAPER ON VIDEO CLASSIFICATION USING NEURAL NETWORK AND SUPPORT VECTOR MACHINE

Data mining is the process of analyzing data from different perspectives and summarizing it into useful information that can be used to increase revenue, cuts costs, or both. Data mining software is one of a number of analytical tools for analyzing data. It allows users to analyze data from many different dimensions or angles, categorize it, and summarize the relationships identified. Technically, data mining is the process of finding correlations or patterns among dozens of fields in large relational databases. Video data mining is to discover and describe interesting patterns from the huge amount of video data as it is one of the core problem areas of the data-mining research community....

AN EXPERIMENTAL STUDY OF FIBER REINFORCED GEO-POLYMER CONCRETE SLAB FOR CONTINOUSLY INCRESING HEIGHT OF IMPACT LOAD

Geo-polymers are a kind of materials that are formed by the polymerization of aluminium (Al2O3), silicon (SiO2) and oxygen species to form a 3-D framework structure. Concrete made by such a binder system possess many advantages as compared to conventional ordinary Portland cement concretes (OPCCs). Many research works has been Reported on the behaviour of reinforced concrete structural elements under impact load whereas similar studies have not been reported on GPCs. This project work describes the experimental study on the behaviour of reinforced GPC slabs under repeated impact loading of low velocity. The aim of this project work is to study the impact behaviour of reinforced GPC slabs with and without steel fibers then compare the result with OPCC slabs. The overall dimensions of the GPC slab are 100cmx100cm, with 6cm thickness. Further there are wide scopes of geo-polymer need to develop in many engineering applications. Also it is use as a substitute of cement in the construction field with many limitations because it is sensitive to its production as well as in its use....
